HYPNOTHERAPY FAQ

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic intervention that blends hypnosis techniques with
traditional counseling. During hypnotherapy, guided imagery, deep relaxation, and
intense focus combine to create a heightened sense of awareness. It is faster,
easier, and more effective to work through painful emotions and negative behaviors
in this state.
By using hypnosis to communicate with your subconscious mind, you can explore
thoughts, emotions, or experiences you may have blocked from conscious memory.
This can help you uncover the root of troubling symptoms and heal from forgotten
childhood trauma. You also become more readily open to suggestions, enabling you
to change negative habits or behaviors.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Hypnotherapy is safe and natural. It has been practiced for more than 100 years! In
1955 the British Medical Society recognized hypnosis as a legitimate form of
treatment

Can a therapist take control of my mind?

A hypnotherapist has no authority over you or your mind and cannot make you do
anything against your will. During hypnotherapy, your mind and body are relaxed but
you are awake, aware, and in control of what you say or do.

How effective is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is 93% more effective than traditional talk therapy. It also takes less
time to see results. By bypassing the conscious mind, a hypnotherapist can help
you access and work through your innermost thoughts and emotions much faster
than through traditional therapy.

How many sessions are necessary?

While every hypnotherapist has his/her own treatment plan, I find that four sessions
are usually enough to see tangible results.

What are some of the issues a hypnotherapist can help me with?

Some of the common issues that can be successfully treated through hypnotherapy
include marital challenges, chronic pain, smoking, weight gain, fears and anxiety,
low self-esteem, anger, and panic attacks.
